"My wife and I stopped in the Hoffman House this past weekend after a weekend getaway to the Catskills. We dined at this beautiful, old restaurant two years ago upon our last visit to Kingston and loved the food and ambiance. This time we only stopped in for a couple of beers and had a nice chat with the owner, Ginny and her daughter. What nice people! They were so friendly and were extremely helpful in providing us some areas of interest around the Kingston area. For those of you who love to visit historic places and love the architecture from many years back, then do yourselves a favor and make sure you stop in at this restaurant! We'll definitely be back! "We love stopping in from NYC when in the area. Food is always exciting here and their is always a special daily entree or appetizer which does not fail to please. Pricing is moderate but you are paying for the ambiance so its more of a specialty visit as opposed to general dining. Whether you go for the Duck, Fish and Chips or Salmon (amongst numerous other entrees, appetizers and desserts) as we have, its always been delicious and service is wonderful. We've always felt welcome."

"Beautiful, historic decor; delicious, fresh meals; and the best french onion soup in the Hudson Valley!"

"We visit this area every other month and make it a point to stop in. We always enjoy having a few specialty cocktails at the bar before dinner, then relax in the historic 17th century stone building. This restaurant obviously shows the labors of love that it's owners have put into it. Our dinners are always amazing with nice portions. This is a family owned restaurant that just does everything right. My daughter loves the homemade lemon pie and is always talking about it. It's a must have, it's impossible not to love it. Only problem with restaurant like this is, I never want to try somewhere new. "

"The food, service, atmosphere and prices were great. Great place for old friends to wine and dine. Drinks were well presented and generous. The appetizers were huge and very good. The steaks and seafood meals were the best. We had a party of eight diners and all said 5 stars in all categories."

"Love. Love. Love. We ate out on the gorgeous back patio, overlooking lush flower gardens. Our server was outstanding and offered spot-on recommendations. The specialty drinks are great fun (hello, Bombshell Cosmo!), and the food was fantastic from the bread basket right through dessert. I had the pasta poulet, which was creamy, delicious and stick-to-your-ribs satisfying. My son had a NY Sirloin, which was simply seasoned and cooked to perfection. The stuffed baked potato was probably literally the best potato I've ever eaten. Anywhere. Ever. And the frozen lemonade pie (a seasonal specialty) - accompanied by an in-depth explanation of the multi-day process of making it in-house - was TO DIE FOR."
